About BMW X5

The X5 (E53) was presented in 1999, as the first SUV from BMW. Contrary to many of its 4x4 competitors of the time it was built with a monocoque body, making it more like a passenger car than a truck. It was also helpful that it was designed at a time when Land Rover was owned by BMW. X5 was available with six- or eight cylinder petrol or diesel engines and automatic transmission. The model sold well, had a facelift in 2004. The second generation, E70 appeared late 2006, and in 2009 as an "M"-version blasting out 555 bhp. This generation was made up until 2013 when the third, "F15" in BMW's internal nomenclature was launched.
