The Rekord is an excellent car, solid, well built, easy to maintain and adjust even on your own.
the interiors are very rational, large and comfortable, with clearly visible instrumentation.
The seats are much more comfortable than modern seats. The large windows make everything very visible.
Unfortunately it also has some defects: the 3-speed automatic transmission makes it rather slow in acceleration, even the maximum speed is not very high, and consumption is higher than the version with manual transmission.
The Varajet II carburettor is not very easy to adjust, in winter the car struggles to warm up well
The ventilation system is a defect on all Rekord, in the summer we die of heat, also because the rear windows open little and the air turns badly. In addition, the whole car is poorly insulated.
Other than that I love the old Opel. It is an ideal car for long journeys and for families. She is a eater of kilometers, she can go anywhere without the slightest effort
