About AC Cars

AC was founded in 1901 by the Weller Brothers, and the cars were also sold under that brand name during early years. The first model was launched in 1903, and in 1919 the production of an overhead cam six-cylinder engine started. This engine was to be produced until 1963, making it one of the longest-living engine designs in automotive history.

AC was contacted in 1962 by the american racing driver Carroll Shelby, proposing to fit Fords smallblock-V8 in the light AC Ace. The rest is motoring history, one of the icons was born and even more powerful versions were produced during the 60s. The model is still in production, nowadays assembled in Germany with engines from Chevrolet.
